The public lecture series (Ringvorlesung) and the public discussion series (Dialog Kontrovers) are organised annually by the IKKS in an alternating cycle. Both formats emphasise participation and direct audience engagement, incorporating moderated Q&A sessions, opportunities for active co-creation and informal spaces for dialogue. They are designed to be adaptable at various organisational levels. Different modes of delivery are tested and evaluated each year, ranging from livestreaming and publishing recordings to providing supplementary information and organising events at new, non-university venues. After each session, audience members are invited to provide brief feedback on the comprehensibility of the topic and presentation, and their overall satisfaction with the event. These formats demonstrate how recurring events can foster consistent public engagement, as well as showcasing how dialogic structures can enhance the accessibility of scientific knowledge.
